Nepal Leave for Asia Women Rising Star

The Nepal women’s cricket team, which is heading to Thailand to participate in the ACC Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars starting from next Friday, has been bid farewell.

The Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) organized a program on Tuesday to bid farewell to the team. During the farewell program, captain Puja Mahato stated that this time Nepal team is not limited to just participation. We are aim to win the title.

After captain Indu Barma got injured during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier held in Nepal, Puja named new captain of Nepal Cricket team. She was vice- captaining under Indu Barma.

Why Nepal did not qualify in World cup?

Previously, Puja has led the U-19 team. Head coach Harshal Pathak mentioned that the Nepali team is balanced and organized, and is ready to challenge the opponents. Experienced and veteran player Rubina Chhetri said that this tournament is a good opportunity for exposure and that the team’s preparation is good, so we can achieve results.

Biggest Heart💔 Break for Nepal

The tournament, to be held in Thailand from February 13 to 22, features 8 participating teams divided into 2 groups.

Nepal will compete in Group A against India A, Pakistan A, and UAE. Group B includes host Thailand along with Bangladesh A, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka A. The top 2 teams from both groups will advance to the semifinals.

In the opening match, Nepal will start the tournament by competing against Pakistan A. Nepal will face UAE on February 15 and India A on 17. Both semifinals of the tournament will be played on February 20, and the final match on February 22.
