Bangladesh announces decision not to play T20 World Cup in India

Kathmandu –  Bangladesh has decided not to play the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup on Indian soil.

Following a discussion held today with the interim government’s sports adviser Asif Nazrul, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Aminul Islam Bulbul said that Bangladesh has decided not to travel to India for the World Cup.

BCB President Bulbul added that they will once again request the ICC to allow Bangladesh to play their matches in Sri Lanka.

Amid ongoing tensions with India, Bangladesh had earlier requested that its World Cup matches be shifted to Sri Lanka, citing security concerns.
