T20 World Cup – Bangladesh Stands Firm on Decision Not to Travel to India

Kathmandu – The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has stated that it remains firm on its decision not to travel to India for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026.

Despite the International Cricket Council (ICC) urging Bangladesh to reconsider, the BCB has made it clear that it will not change its stance, citing security concerns.

A discussion between the BCB and the ICC was held via video conference on Tuesday. During the meeting, the BCB requested that Bangladesh’s matches be shifted to co-host Sri Lanka, stating that playing in India poses security risks.

The meeting was attended by BCB President Aminul Islam along with senior officials. Although the ICC noted that the tournament schedule has already been announced and asked Bangladesh to reconsider its position, the BCB has remained steadfast in its decision.
