Nepal to Bat First After Losing the Toss

Kathmandu – Nepal have lost the toss and will bat first against Bangladesh in the ACC U-19 Asia Cup cricket tournament. The match will be played in Dubai and is scheduled to begin at 10:45 AM (Nepali time).

Nepal are in search of their first win in the tournament. In their opening match, Nepal delivered a disappointing performance and were defeated by Test-playing nation Sri Lanka by eight wickets.

A loss against Bangladesh would end Nepal’s semi-final hopes with one match still remaining.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, will be aiming for their second consecutive victory to strengthen their chances of reaching the semi-finals. In their first match, Bangladesh defeated Afghanistan by 19 runs.

Bangladesh are competing in the tournament under the captaincy of Azizul Hakim, while Ashok Dhami is leading the Nepali side. Nepal included Bipin Sharma and Yuvraj Khatri in the squad specifically for the Asia Cup, though both players remained on the bench in the first match.

In Group B, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh each have two points and are both targeting a win on Monday to secure a place in the semi-finals.

Nepal and Afghanistan, meanwhile, are both winless after the first round of matches and are searching for their first points of the tournament.

In Group A, India have collected four points by winning both of their matches. Pakistan and the UAE each have two points, while Malaysia are at the bottom of the group.
