Inter-School T20 Cricket Tournament to Be Held in Parbat

Pokhara – With the aim of enhancing cricketing skills among school-aged students, a district-level inter-school cricket tournament is set to be organized in Parbat.

Organized by the Parbat Cricket Association, the tournament will begin on Poush 12 and is being held as its second edition. Tournament coordinator Saugat Regmi informed that the competition will be conducted with the participation of as many schools from the district as possible.

The matches will be held at the playground of the No. 25 Armed Police Force Headquarters, Chandika, located in Kushma.

Schools interested in participating must complete team registration by Poush 5. Each school team will consist of 16 members: 14 players, 1 coach, and 1 manager. The tournament will be played in the T20 format following ICC rules, Regmi stated. Only students studying up to Grade 10 will be eligible to participate as players.

For participation, schools must submit an official letter, student identity cards, birth registration certificates of each player, and the previous year’s marksheets.

The champion team will be awarded a trophy, medals, and certificates, while the runner-up team will also receive a trophy, medals, and certificates. In addition, special awards will be presented for Man of the Match, Player of the Tournament, Best Bowler, and Best Batsman.

The association has arranged various prizes for teams and players delivering outstanding performances.

The Parbat Cricket Association stated that the tournament is being organized to promote cricket at the school level and to produce talented players, and has urged all schools in the district to participate, according to coordinator Saugat Regmi.

In the first edition held last year, Narayan Secondary School of Kushma emerged as the champion, while Mangalodaya Secondary School of Banda Chuwa finished as the runner-up.
