Kathmandu – Two matches are scheduled for Saturday in the ongoing second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) at the TU Cricket Ground.
In the first match, starting at 11:15 AM, Sudurpashchim Royals will face Biratnagar Kings. Similarly, at 3:30 PM, Chitwan Rhinos will compete against Pokhara Avengers.
Sudurpashchim, who remain unbeaten and have already secured a place in the first qualifier with 12 points from six matches, are under no pressure. However, Biratnagar—who have already secured a playoff spot with eight points—need a win today to play in the first qualifier.
If Biratnagar win with a good run rate, they will join Sudurpashchim in the first qualifier. Otherwise, they will have to play the eliminator against Lumbini Lions. In that case, Sudurpashchim and Kathmandu Gorkhas will face each other in the first qualifier.
The afternoon match between Chitwan and Pokhara will be only a battle for pride, as both teams are already out of the playoff race. Each has earned just four points from six matches.
