Kathmandu – Biratnagar Kings secured a thrilling win over Karnali Yaks, powered by an excellent batting display from Basir Ahmed. Chasing Karnali’s target of 161 runs, Biratnagar were guided to victory as Ahmed scored a decisive 62 runs, turning the match in his team’s favor.
For Biratnagar, opener George Munsey was dismissed for a duck, while Lokesh Bam fell for 6 runs. Sam Heazlett was out for 16, and both Sahil Patel and Basir Ahmed scored 19 runs each before getting dismissed. Marchant de Lange was out for 2 runs. Narayan Joshi, who scored 25, fell to Nandan Yadav, while Pratish GC made 6 runs. Sandeep Lamichhane remained unbeaten on 6 runs.
For Karnali, Sompal Kami and Gulshan Jha took two wickets each, while Pawan Sarraf, William Bosisto, and Nandan Yadav claimed one wicket apiece.
Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Karnali posted 160 runs for the loss of three wickets. Priyank Panchal top-scored with 63 runs. Gulshan Jha added 20, Max Watt scored 6, while William Bosisto remained unbeaten on 48 and Najibullah Zardan on 12.
For Biratnagar, Marchant de Lange and captain Sandeep Lamichhane took one wicket each.
