Kathmandu – In today’s match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), Pokhara Avengers won the toss and elected to bowl first against Sudurpashchim Royals.
The match will begin at 4 PM.
Hoping to forget last season’s poor performance, Pokhara Avengers have not had a pleasant start this season either.
In the third match of the tournament—and their first—Pokhara lost to Biratnagar by a wide margin of 53 runs and are now looking for a comeback. While chasing the highest-ever target in NPL history—221 runs—Pokhara did not get the expected support from Jimmy Neesham, but captain Kushal Bhurtel managed to score a half-century.
Meanwhile, Sudurpashchim, who pulled off a surprising performance by defeating Kathmandu Gorkhas by 29 runs, will look to continue their winning run. Despite a shaky start, their middle order stabilized the innings, and their bowling performance was dominant.
Last season, Pokhara and Sudurpashchim faced each other once in the league stage, where Sudurpashchim secured a narrow 5-run victory.
