NPL: Sudurpashchim and Pokhara to Clash

Kathmandu – In the Nepal Premier League (NPL), Pokhara Avengers and Sudurpashchim Royals are set to face each other today. The match will begin at 4 PM.

 

Having lost their first match by 53 runs to Biratnagar Kings, Pokhara will be looking for their first victory, while last season’s runners-up Sudurpashchim aim to maintain their winning momentum.

 

Pokhara Avengers, who are hoping to forget last season’s poor performance, have not had a pleasant start this season either.

 

In the third match of the tournament—and their first—Pokhara suffered a heavy 53-run defeat against Biratnagar. Chasing the highest total in NPL history, 221 runs, Pokhara did not get the expected support from Jimmy Neesham, but captain Kushal Bhurtel managed to score a half-century.

 

Meanwhile, Sudurpashchim, who produced a surprising performance by defeating Kathmandu Gorkhas by 29 runs, want to continue their winning journey. Considered strong contenders this season, Sudurpashchim recovered from a poor start thanks to their middle order, and their bowling delivered a one-sided display.

 

Last season, Pokhara and Sudurpashchim had met once in the league stage, where Sudurpashchim had secured a narrow 5-run victory.
