Winning Start for Lumbini Lions

Kathmandu – Lumbini Lions have started the Nepal Premier League with a victory. In the match held on Thursday, Lumbini defeated Chitwan Rhinos by 6 wickets.

 

Chasing the target, Lumbini finished the innings in 18.3 overs. For Lumbini, Rohit Paudel scored 39 runs, while Sandeep Jora made 28. D’ Arcy and Dilip Nath contributed 11 and 10 runs respectively. Gulbadin Naib remained unbeaten on 44.

 

Batting first after losing the toss, Chitwan scored 142 runs. For Chitwan, Ravi Bopara scored 66 runs off 55 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes. Similarly, Kushal Malla added 21 runs off 18 balls. Saif Zaib scored 15, Dev Khanal 14, and Deepak Bohara 10.

 

In bowling, Lumbini’s Ruben Trumpelmann took the highest three wickets, while Abhishek Gautam and Gulbadin Naib claimed two wickets each.

 

Earlier, Chitwan had defeated Karnali Yaks.
