Kathmandu – Nepal has elected to field first against Japan in the ICC T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia-Pacific Qualifier.
Japan will bat first after losing the toss. Both teams have already secured their spots in the Super Six stage ahead of this match.
In Thursday’s Group B fixture, Japan stunned Kuwait with a 5-wicket victory, which confirmed Super Six qualification for both Japan and Nepal. Kuwait, having suffered its second consecutive defeat, has been eliminated from the tournament. Earlier, Kuwait had lost to Nepal by 58 runs in their opening match.
Today’s match between Nepal and Japan will decide the winner and runner-up of Group B. Although both teams are tied with 2 points each, Nepal currently tops the group due to a better net run rate.
