Kathmandu – India secured another comfortable victory over Pakistan in the Super-4 stage of the Asia Cup T20 cricket tournament. In the match held in Dubai on Sunday night, India won by 6 wickets.
Chasing a target of 172 runs set by Pakistan, India reached the goal in 18.5 overs with the loss of 4 wickets. For India, opener Abhishek Sharma scored 74 runs off 39 balls, hitting 6 fours and 5 sixes. Shubman Gill contributed 47 runs from 28 balls, while Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 30 runs from 19 balls, including 2 fours and 2 sixes.
For Pakistan, Haris Rauf took 2 wickets, while Abrar Ahmed and Faheem Ashraf claimed 1 wicket each.
Earlier, India won the toss and opted to field first. Batting first, Pakistan posted 171 runs for the loss of 5 wickets.
Opener Sahibzada Farhan scored 58 runs off 45 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes. Fakhar Zaman made 15 runs from 9 balls, Saim Ayub added 21 runs off 17 balls, and Faheem Ashraf remained not out on 20 runs from 8 balls.
In India’s bowling attack, Shivam Dube took 2 wickets, while Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav took 1 wicket each.
Earlier in the Super-4 stage, Bangladesh had defeated Sri Lanka. India had also beaten Pakistan in the group stage of the tournament.
