Nepali Cricketers to Feature in Malaysian Super Women Series

Kathmandu – Nepali women cricketers are all set to take part in the upcoming Malaysian Super Women Series, scheduled to be held from September 24 to 30 in Malaysia. The tournament is being organized by the Malaysian Cricket Association and marks its third edition, with sponsorship from Yayasan Sime Darby.

This year, five teams—Central Super Girls, Eastern Lionesses, Northern Queens, Southern Jaguars, and Western Wonder Women—will compete for the title. In previous editions, Northern Queens emerged victorious in the inaugural 2020 event, while Western Wonder Women claimed the championship in the 2024 edition and are now preparing to defend their title.

The tournament will not only provide valuable international exposure for the Nepali players but also serve as a crucial part of their preparation for the upcoming T20 International series against Malaysia and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers.

According to a player list published by Caesar Sports Global, twelve Nepali players have already been assigned to various teams. Rubina Chhetri and Kabita Kunwar are yet to be placed in a team, while the rest have been distributed across the five participating squads.

The series presents a unique opportunity for the players to gain experience by playing alongside and against international talents, further sharpening their skills on a global stage.
