Kathmandu – India’s spinner Varun Chakaravarthy has become the No.1 ranked bowler in T20 International cricket for the first time in his career.
His consistent and impressive performances throughout 2025 have earned him the top spot in the latest ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings.
Chakaravarthy is now the third Indian bowler to achieve the No.1 ranking in T20I bowling, following in the footsteps of Jasprit Bumrah and Ravi Bishnoi.
Having only secured a regular place in India’s T20I squad in the last 12 months, the 34-year-old has showcased his skills brilliantly, overtaking New Zealand pacer Jacob Duffy to claim the top position.
With this achievement, Chakaravarthy has climbed three spots to reach No.1. Duffy has slipped to second place. West Indies spinner Akeal Hosein remains at third, while Australia’s Adam Zampa has moved up to fourth.
Meanwhile, another Indian spinner, Kuldeep Yadav, has made significant progress—rising 16 spots to reach 23rd position in the rankings.
