Nepal ‘A’ Wins T20 Series

Kathmandu – Nepal ‘A’ has won the T20 practice series against the Assam Cricket Association team.

In the fifth and final match held on Monday in Guwahati, India, Nepal defeated Assam by 44 runs. With this victory, Nepal clinched the five-match series 3–2.

Chasing a target of 209 runs set by Nepal, the home team Assam was restricted to 164 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

For Assam, Bhargav Lahkar top-scored with an unbeaten 29 runs. Similarly, Sahil Jain and captain Sumit Ghadianakar scored 25 runs each, while Saurabh Dihiga added 17.

In bowling, Nepal’s Sher Malla, Aakash Chand, and Pawan Sarraf took two wickets each, while Basir Ahmed claimed one.

Earlier, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, Nepal posted 208 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs.

For Nepal, Sundeep Jora scored the highest with 64 runs, followed by Subash Khakurel with 41, and Ishan Pandey with 32. In bowling, Assam’s Ayushman Malakar and Abhinav Choudhary took two wickets each.

In the earlier matches of the series, Nepal won the first game by 15 runs and the second by a massive 96 runs. However, they lost the third match by 9 runs and the fourth by 18 runs.
