Australia Crushes South Africa by 276 Runs in 3rd ODI, But Lose Series 2-1

Kathmandu – Australia ended the ODI series on a high with a dominant 276-run win over South Africa in the third and final match, but it wasn’t enough to claim the series, which South Africa won 2-1.

Chasing a mammoth target of 432 runs, South Africa were bowled out for just 155. Left-arm spinner Cooper Connolly starred with the ball for the hosts, taking 3 wickets and leading a disciplined bowling performance.

Earlier, Australia’s top order delivered a batting masterclass. Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, and Cameron Green all scored centuries, powering the home side to a massive 431/2 in their 50 overs. Skipper Marsh had won the toss and chose to bat first.

Despite this commanding win, it was South Africa who clinched the ODI series after winning the first two matches. Australia, however, had earlier taken the T20I series in the same tour, making it a competitive bilateral contest overall.
