Itahari, July 7 — Inspired by Sujan Thapaliya’s unbeaten explosive half century, Itahari Super Kings won the KPL Cup International Invitational Tournament 2026 title. Itahari Super Kings were crowned champions after defeating Chhinnamasta Lions by 19 runs in the final played on Monday.
After winning the toss and electing to field first, Chhinnamasta Lions restricted Itahari Super Kings to 107/5 in the allotted 10 overs. Chasing a target of 108 runs, Chhinnamasta Lions could manage only 88/5 in their allotted 10 overs. Overs were reduced by 10 overs due to wet outfield.
Player of the Match Sujan Thapaliya starred for Itahari Super Kings with an unbeaten 71 off 35 balls, including 3 fours and 8 sixes. Wicket keeper Batter Arjun Gharti Magar scored 15 off 11 balls, while Bowling allrounder Bipin Khatri remained unbeaten on 4 off 10 balls. Deepak Prasad Dumre was dismissed for 0 off 1 ball, Shubh Kansakar scored 1 off 2 balls, Sudip Aryal was out for 0 off 2 balls, and Samir Karki was dismissed for 0 off 1 ball.
